Maharishi Patanjali said in the Yoga Sutra, “when you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world.” It is therefore deemed essential that we explore our inner recesses and give a ‘purpose’ to our life and having found that purpose we passionately dedicate and commit ourselves towards its accomplishment. As you surge ahead into another academic year my only submission to you is to learn to utilize every moment of your life purposefully and productively. It is metaphorically said ’Time is money’, but I personally feel that it is much more valuable than money, because money once lost can be retrieved, but time is irretrievable and once lost can never be retrieved, so live with the passion of making the most of every moment in your life. Success is no accident, it is a culmination of hard work, perseverance and most of all love for what you are doing or learning to do. Stay positive and derive happiness from whatever you are doing.
The moment we start considering our work as a burden we draw our boundaries to our learning and growth. Not that life’s journey will be smooth sailing…. You will encounter strong winds.. there will be high tides and low tides, but when you are passionate about your doing the whole cosmos comes forward to support you. Work hard and don’t give up hope. Be open to criticism and commit yourself to life long learning. Brian Tracy has rightly said, “The most valuable asset that you will ever have is your mind and what you put into it.”
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever,” these words of Mahatma Gandhi have been my great guiding force and the thought I ardently wish to share with you dear children is: ‘The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a skill; but the willingness to learn is a choice.”
Always remember that learning is a treasure which will follow its owner everywhere; so cherish this treasure and be life long learners.
Best Wishes and Blessings.
