Poster Making & Slogan writing competition
(December 8th, 2006)

 
Poster Making & Slogan Writing
A Poster Making & Slogan writing competition was organized by District Education Office, Gurgaon to celebrate Energy Conservation Day. All schools of Gurgaon conducted the same at their own level. The Judges were from ADC office, Gurgaon. Blue Bells won four out of the ten prizes.

Slogan Writing Competition:
Aanchal - Class IX - 1st cash prize of Rs. 250/-
Shivangi - Class IX - 2nd cash prize of Rs. 100/-
Pritha Nath - Class IX - 2nd cash prize of Rs. 100/-

Poster Making:
Shubhangi Raina - Class VIII - 2nd Cash Prize of Rs. 100/-

 

On-the-spot Painting Competition
(November 23rd, 2006)

 

An On – The – Spot painting competition was organized by UNESCO CLUB & ASSOCIATIONS OF INDIA (CUCAI) – WORLD HERITAGE at Red Fort, New Delhi. A number of schools from Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad participated. Blue-Bells won 2 prizes out of 10 prizes.

Inter-School Competition at Om Shanti Retreat
(November 30th, 2006)

 

An Inter-School Competition was organized , for students of classes IX to XII, by Om Shanti Retreat Centre, the Northern India Campus of Brahma Kumaris. Speech, Essay-writing, Painting, Fancy Dress, Group Song and Mono-acting competitions were organised as part of the event. Our student Rahul Sen Gupta bagged the second Prize in the Paining Competition.

Dr. Brij Mohan Prasad, Director, Dronacharya Engineering College presided as the Chief Guest. The participants were given a spiritual talk by Sister Urmi on the importance of meditation in the present scenario.

 

VIth National Cyber Olympiad

The Results for the VIth National Cyber Olympiad were announced in the month of November. The National Cyber Olympiad,is a nationwide talent search contest that aims to identify Cyber Savvy talent amongst the young generation.

Our student Shubham Rana of class III bagged the first rank in the school and the city(Gurgaon), third rank in Haryana and 58th rank All over India.

Following students won the Whizkid Medals: Shubham Rana, Anustup Garai,Samarjeet Kataria,Sakshi Raina, Shuchita Banthia, Shoan Jain, Sparsh Yadav.

 

Inter-School Invitational Science Model Making Competition - 2006
(November 25th, 2006)

 

The Inter-School Invitational Science Model Making Competition, 2006 was organized by Aravali Public School under the aegis of GPSC. The Chief Guest was scientist, Dr. Abhas from C.S.I.R., New Delhi.

Both Still and Working models were prepared by particpants under the two categories: Category A (classes VI to VIII) and B (classes IX to XII)

Our participants Shefali Shewaramani, Himanshu, Shubham Chauhan and Piyush Yadav were awarded the trophy for the second position in Still Model Making from amongst the 18 model entries in category A. The model was prepared under the guidance of Mrs. Charu Yadav. The prize winning Model was based on ‘Energy Self Sufficient Colony’ using non-conventional energy resources.

 

Inter-School Debate Competition
(November 24th, 2006)

 

An Inter-School Debate Competition was organized by Sherwood Convent School, under the aegis of Gurgaon Progressive School Council. 12 member schools of GPSC participated in the event.

Akriti Gupta and Simran of class IX bagged the first Prize in the Senior Category. Akriti Gupta was declared as the ‘Best Speaker’. She was highly appreciated and was unparallelled among the speakers in her category. Charvi Gupta and Ayush K. Pal participated in the Junior category. Charvi Gupta won the ‘Consolation Prize’.

   

International Informatics Olympiad-2006
(November, 2006)

 

The Informatics Olympiad was organized in the month of August by Silver Zone Organization. This organization provides latest technologies to the Computer Science Students. The Results of the Examination have been announced in November.

Sachipreet Chawla of class III scored 95% marks and won the 18th Olympiad rank and was specially awarded by Silverzone organisation. Overall the school won: 11 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals. For its outstanding achievement, the School was awarded a WebCam, a New Year’s Diary and Parker Pens. Director Mrs. Suman Gulati and Principal Mrs. C Dhawan lauded the efforts of the students and the teachers.

CBSE North Zone-II Taekwondo Championship 2006
(November 23rd-26th, 2006)

 

The Taekwondo Championship was hosted by Amity International School, Gurgaon. Around 700 Boys and Girls from 78 reputed schools of Haryana and Punjab participated in this Championship.

Sahil Chadha of class XII won the second position and was awarded a Silver Medal. He has qualified for the 1st CBSE National Taekwondo Championship that will be organized at DAV Model School, Durgapur (West Bengal) from 9th to 12th December 2006.

Ajay Bishnoi, Preeti Yadav, Rafia, Piyush, Mohit and Arushi were awarded Bronze Medals.

   

Techno Fest
(November 18th, 2006)

 

Techno - Fest was organized by Lions Public School on November 18, 2006. 16 schools of Gurgaon participated in the event where a number of IT-related competitions like Quiz, Debate, Hardware Assembling, Paint Brush and Typing Efficiency were organised.

Blue Bells Model School bagged the first position in the quiz contest. Our team was represented by Salil K. Lalit, Nikita Tanwar and Jatin Mongia. The second position was won by Blue Bells Public School.

Our Debate partricipants, Shefali and Udita were also highly appreciated for their talks.

   

Symposium on "Green Chemistry"
(November 14th, 2006)

 

A Competition based on Symposium on “Green Chemistry” was organized by DAV Public School, Gurgaon. The symposium was inaugurated by Dr. R K Sharma (Co-ordinator – Indo-US Green Chemistry Network Centre). He explained various aspects of the new branch of Chemistry - “Green Chemistry” with the help of an impressive Power-Point Presentation.

Judges for the event were Dr. D S Sharma (Delhi University), Dr R K Sharma (Incharge International Chapter – American Chemical Society) and Prof. Bakshi (Delhi University – Chemistry Dept.). About 25 schools of Gurgaon and Delhi participated in the Competition. Our students – Ketan Pahuja (Class XII) and Surbhi Garg (Class XI) won the second position. They were awarded a Cash Prize of Rs. 1500/- and books based on Chemistry.

   

National Biodiversity Quiz - Winners all the Way
(November 7th, 2006)

 

A Quiz Competition was organized by ‘National Counsel of Science Museums’ at National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event’s objective was to mark the celebration of ‘2006 – The Year of Biodiversity’ and generate awareness among the students on various life forms of nature.

Our Quiz Team comprising Shoan Jain and Shivang Goyal were invited for the Zonal Quarter Finals after qualifying the First level of the Contest on October 14.

Our young quizmasters gave a tough fight to the other contestants and emerged as the Winners thus qualifying for Semi-Finals and Finals to be held in the Science City – Kolkata on 22nd and 23rd December. Our team is amongst the four teams which will be representing the North Zone in India in the National Semi-Final round competition.

Shoan Jain and Shivang Goyal were honoured with prizes and certificates, and were appreciated by all for making their institution proud.

NCC Combined Annual Training Camp - 2006
(October 29th - November 7th, 2006)

 

The NCC Camp, organized by 5 Haryana Batallion, NCC, was held at Garhi – Harsaru, Gurgaon for 10 days, from 29th October to 7th November. 750 cadets from 20 schools and 10 colleges participated in the Camp . The 16 cadets from Blue Bells were: Rohit Pahuja, Gaurav Ahuja, Ayush Aggarwal, Sahil Saxena, Akash Satija, Sahil Wadhwa, Sukrit Sen, Jitin Kukreja, Abhinav Mishra, Rajan Taneja, Akshya Chhilar, Nikhil Jain, Ankit Yadav, Prashant Pahuja, Deepak Chutani, Nitin Kr. Sharma

A number of activities like Drill, Firing, Quiz, Song and Best Cadet Competitions; P.T., Weapon Training and Lectures were organized at the camp. Our Cadets actively participated in all the events and won many prizes:

SMART 2006 & CEMAT 2006
(October 15th, 2006)

 

The Results of SMART – 2006 and CEMAT – 2006, tests organized by Careers Institute, Gurgaon in the month of August 2006, were declared on October 15, 2006. The Institute designs these tests to award the brilliant students of classes VIII to XII. Nearly 5000 students for SMART and 3250 students for CEMAT tests from different schools were examined.

Our student Shoan Jain of class VIII stood First in the Gurgaon region. 23 other students of the school won prestigious positions and were awarded mementos and certificates.

   

CBSE Cluster-XIV Table-Tennis Tournament 2006
(October 12th-15th, 2006)

 

About 40 schools of Haryana participated in the Table Tennis Championship hosted by Guru Dronacharya Public School at Jind. Our Boys & Girls Teams participated under different age-categories.
Our team of Boys (under 19 years) and Girls (under 14 years) were awarded the Bronze Medals.

An Inter-School Cultural Fest (under the aegis of GPSC) was organized at CCA School, in which 14 schools of Gurgaon participated.

An Eco-Fest was organized at St. P B N School on October 7, 2006. Mr. N C Sharma, Director, IGNOU was the Chief Guest. Our student Shefali won the second prize in Poster-Making / Slogan-Writing event.

   

Blue Bells Soars to attain greater heights
(October 4th - 7th, 2006)

 

The Haryana State Table-Tennis Championship was held at Panchkula from 4th to 7th October 2006. School teams from all over Haryana participated in the tournament. Our Boys team won the first prize in the ‘under 19 years’ category. The team members who brought laurels to the school are - Puneet Yadav, Arpit, Umesh, and Saurabh Bhatnagar. Puneet Yadav and Arpit will represent the school in the coveted National level Championship.

The second Inter-School Students Quality Circles Convention was organized by QCFI (Quality Circles Forum of India, Delhi Chapter) on September 29, 2006 at CCA School. Prof. Dr. Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Amity International, Noida presided over this Convention and Mr. K.K. Aggarwal, Chairman of QCFI was the Guest of Honour. Many prestigious schools of Gurgaon and Faridabad participated.

Blue Bells emerged as the overall winner with maximum number of laurels.

The school team bagged the “Excellent Case Study Award” in the convention. The team members of “Prophecy” Quality Circle were Shrutkirti Vashisht, Aastha Chhabra, Ishita Rastogi, Mehak Dhingra, Abhishek Sharma, Rajat Kataria and Apoorva Ranjan. Mrs. Madhu Gupta was the facilitator and Co-ordinator of Quality Circle.

A number of other competitions like Debate, Quiz, Slogan & Poster-Making (based on Quality Theme) were also organized.

Shrutkirti Vashisht of class X bagged the 1st Prize in Debate out of 28 contestants.

Our quiz team (Shrutkirti Vashisht and Ishita Rastogi) bagged the 1st Prize in the Quiz Contest.

In Slogan & Poster-Making Competition our team of Prathma Verma and Sijimol C. Thambi won the second Prize.

Director Mrs. Suman Gulati and Principal Mrs. C. Dhawan congratulated the Co-ordinator of Quality Circles – Mrs. Madhu Gupta and her team members for their grand success.

The Open District Swimming Championship was held at Nehru Stadium on 23rd and 24th September. Our student Puneet Yadav was declared the Best Swimmer in Group – 1 Boys. His category-wise achievements:

Painting Competition at Blue Bells
(September 16, 2006)

  The school hosted a Painting Competition on September 16 under the aegis of ‘Satya Sai Seva’. Shri M.K. Aggarwal – Chairperson of Satya Sai Seva, presided over as the chief guest. The participants were divided into four age groups and were assigned different topics for the competition. The students gave colours to their imagination and came up with beautiful works of art. Blue Bells Group of Schools bagged prizes in three out of the four categories. The proud winners who brought laurels to the school – Deebsha Jha, Ayush Kr. Pal, Sachi Prut and Prathma Verma.
   

Blue Bells shines at IInd CBSE Zonal Swimming Championship

The IInd CBSE Zonal swimming championship was held at Somany Public School, Rewari from 27th August to 30th august 2006. Our participant Tapasya Yadav won 4 Gold medals and was declared the best swimmer in her age group . Puneet Yadav of class X bagged a silver medal in 200 mtrs free style race. Both the students have been selected for National CBSE Swimming Championship scheduled to be held at Nagpur Bhawans B.B. Vidya mandir school from Oct. 8th to Oct. 11th.

The school bagged the First Position in the science quiz organized by Haryana State council for science & Technology at the district level. Many prestigious Public and Government Schools participated in this competition. Director Mrs. Suman Gulati & Principal Mrs. C. The 59th Independence Day was celebrated at the District level with great pomp and show at Tau Devi Lal Stadium on 15th August 2006. The chief Minister of Haryana , Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda presided over the function as the chief guest. A total of Nine platoon displayed their marching skills including the Blue Bells NCC platoon ( 5 Haryana battalion NCC).

Blue Bells NCC platoon bagged the first prize in the Junior group. The winning platoon was awarded a shield by the renowned chief Minister.

   

Inter-School Painting Competition
(August 19, 2006)

 
The school hosted an inter – school painting competition on the occasion of ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas’ on 19th August. Legion of students from reputed schools participated . The competition was open for classes V to VIII and the theme of the competition was – SAVE ENERGY MAKE ENERGY. Mrs. C. Dhawan , Principal Blue Bells Model School gave away prizes to the winners. The results of the competition:

Blue Bells is rightly proud of not only its meritorious students, but also its elite faculty. Adding more feathers to the cap of Blue Bells School, two of our teachers, Mrs. Arpita Acharya and Mrs. Ranjana Arora, won prestigious merit awards in Maths and Physics respectively, in the written test conducted by Society of Perfection in Education, Delhi. The awards were given away by honorable Education Minister, Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely for their spectacular performance. The entire faculty of private schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the competition. The award-winning teachers were honoured with a silver plate and certificate.

The prestigious All INDIA CHORUS COMPETITION OF PATRIOTIC SONGS -2006 was organised at Talkatora Stadium on 29th July, 2006. Mr Ojesh Pratap Singh (Artist AIR- Delhi ), Dr. Mrs. Kasturi Banerjee ( Lecturer – R.B.U.) , Mrs. Soma Bhattacharya (Artist AIR ) and Mrs. Maya Bhattacharya ( Artist AIR Delhi) were the judges. 22 Schools from different states of India participated.

Our choir won certificates & medals for participation in the competition. The Team Leaders were Bijit Dutta , Anil Kumar and Pushpinder Bhardwaj
