| The Science
Block of the school is a double-storeyed
block comprising of a spacious Physics Lab,
Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Computer Lab,
Math Lab and Fashion Studies Lab. The school
has recently got affiliation for Bio-Technology
and is in the process of constructing a
Bio-Technology Lab.

Mathematics Laboratory has been introduced for active learning and for making mathematical
learning joyful and interesting. The lab is equipped with a number of models like Number
meter, Number apparatus, Cuisenaire strips, Pocket Chart, Dominoes, Fraction Disc, Watch
Model, Spike Abacus, Geoboard and many other such models to facilitate the students to
develop the concept of numbers in an easier way. The students have taken initiative to make
models of different prisms and pyramids under the guidance of teachers so that they can use
them in solving different problems of mathematics in a much simpler way.
Mathematical laboratory is equipped with materials needed to help the students form concepts
through meaningful and relevant activities. It helps to develop and strengthen an awareness,
appreciation and enjoyment of mathematics. Care is taken to promote patience, persistance
and creativity in completing a task by each student alongwith excercising team - working
skills which includes listening and co-operation. The latest innovation in the Maths lab is a
software named “The Geometics Sketchpad” which helps the students of all ages to understand
the basic concepts of mathematics. The software helps to solve the doubts and queries
through vivid and illustrious demonstrations. The software is easy to use for the teachers and
the results can easily be understood by students. Instead of plain figures, it gives colourful
images that can also be put in motion, which really appeals to the students.
Geometer’s sketchpad is a dynamic geometry construction and exploration tool for students
and teachers. With this sketchpad we can construct precise figures, while preserving
mathematical relationships. Dynamic interaction gives the power to explore, to analyze and
to understand mathematics easily by giving infinite number of examples at the same time.
The faculty computer is connected to other 10 monitors using LAN system which gives the
privilege to each student to view what the teachers are instructing in their own monitors.
Hence teaching - learning process becomes more effective and interesting.

In an era of revolutionary changes in the field of education, initiating a paradigm shift from
'Teaching to Test' to Holistic assessment' it is earnestly desired for the students to enhance
their communication skills. Listening and speaking skills of the pupils need to be refined
alongwith their creative, critical and analytical skills so that they perform well in their Formative
assessment. In sync with this the school provides for a Language Lab with most sophisticated
and updated software resource material. The Language Lab will expose them to phonetic
skills and help them acquire the right pronunciation and intonation along with a self-check
system so that they imbibe the skill of effective communication. |
