Education, as a planned endeavour, should aim at making children capable of becoming active, responsible, productive and caring members of the society. It is therefore, deemed essential that it must promote and nourish as wide a range of capacities and skills in the learners as possible. It is with this mission that the CBSE has brought about a paradigm shift from ‘Teaching to Test’ to ‘Holistic assessment’. The introducation of CCE is a step towards assessing and evaluating the holistic personality of the students and not just his/her academic excellence. Students will be assessed through Formative and Summative assessments. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT is used continuously by the teacher to monitor the student's progress in a supportive environment.
In FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT, emphasis is more on other activities instead of written examination. These include quizzes, interviews, conversation, visual testing, oral testing, projects, practicals and assignments. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT is in the form of a written test conducted by the school at the end of each term. The Examination and Evaluation system being adopted by the school for classes VI to X is based on the guidelines of CCE. The entire academic session will be divided into two terms spanning from April to September and October to March. Students will be assessed in both Scholastic and Co-scholastic areas.
Scholastic aspects include curricular areas or subject specific areas.

Co-scholastic aspects include life-skills, Co-curricular activities, attitudes and values.

The Scholastic area will be assessed through:-

Formal Assessment:- This assesment of the student will be carried out by the teaching teacher formally and informally.
Formal Activities :- Through Unit Tests, MCQ, projects, quizzes, class assignments and home assignments.
Informal Activities :- Through oral work, field trips.
Average of various activities will be taken for each formative assessment.
Summative Assessment:- Through Terminal Examination to be conducted at the end of each term.
Formative assessment:- 20% per Term
Summative assessment:- Term I - 30% and Term II - 30%
The Students will receive their final scores in terms of grades instead of numerical marks. For promotion to next class it shall be mandatory for the students to secure minimum ‘D’ grade in aggregate as well as in all major subjects viz. English, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, Maths, Science and Social Science.
Weekly test for each subject shall carry a weightage of marks per term.
Two Periodical Tests Weightage - 40 marks
Communication skills / Assignments & Projects 10 marks
Terminal 100 marks
Total 150 marks
Percentage required for promotion to next class is 40% in aggregate. It shall be mandatory for the students to qualify all the elective and optional subjects.

The school has set up a CCE Resource Centre to effectively implement the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme as introduced by CBSE. The Centre has been set-up with the objective of designing and developing the resource material for both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas. The Centre also caters to the needs of record-keeping and documentation as deemed essential for the holistic assessment of each and every student of the school. It is also equipped with all CBSE updates and Manuals related to Formative Assessment, Life Skills and Health & Wellness Program as a ready-reckoner for the growth and empowerment of the teachers. The faculty members utilize the available resource material for planning and designing assignments and projects. CCE activities undertaken by the students are displayed at the CCE Resource Centre for furthering the learning process.

Some Innovative Best Practices
The vision of the school is to constantly integrate the emergent best practices of education into the prevailing system. In sync with the same the school has taken up the following initiatives and Programmes –
D.E.A.R. is a programme to Drop Everything And Read. The initiative is an effort of the school to promote reading habit among the students and also to polish their language skills.
Circle-Time is a specially designed time-slot at the disposal of the students when they avail the opportunity to express their thoughts without any inhibitions and give flight to their imagination.
Creative Writing Journal has been introduced in classes upto V. The activity helps the students to build upon their writing skills by expressing their views on creatively designed topics.

Remedial Policy for Improved Academic Performance
The school follows a regulated remedial policy for guiding and improving upon the performance of the students. Remedial classes are held for students showing below average performance on Saturdays after regular school hours and on Wednesdays – the extended time schedule for teachers. The parents of such students are intimated in advance through circulars and Teachers’ notes in the Almanac.
