On April 22, the school hosted a transformative workshop on the "Impact of Packaged Food," in collaboration with Satvic Movement. This organization, renowned for its extensive community of over 8 million individuals across various social media platforms and a distinguished record of conducting workshops for over 5 lakh participants worldwide, provided invaluable insights and knowledge for our students.

The workshop was conducted by Satvic Educators - Mr. Rajat Jordan and Ms. Himadri Pareekh. Ms. Alka Singh, the School Principal, extended a warm welcome to the resource people and greeted them with an environmental-friendly gesture by presenting each of them with a planter. The workshop was structured in two batches to ensure maximum participation and engagement. The aim of the workshop was to educate students from Class III to Class VIII about the adverse effects of packaged foods and the importance of making healthier dietary choices.

Students were equipped with skills to decipher ingredient labels on packaged foods, enabling them to make informed decisions about their consumption. The session also shed light on the detrimental impact of chemicals found in packaged foods on our health, underscoring the significance of opting for natural and wholesome alternatives. Emphasis was placed on the nutritional benefits of incorporating fruits, vegetables, and home-cooked meals into daily diets, promoting a healthier lifestyle among students.

The workshop served as an eye-opening experience for students, empowering them with knowledge to make conscious dietary choices. By understanding the negative implications of consuming packaged foods laden with chemicals and the advantages of embracing natural, home-cooked meals, students are now equipped to prioritize their well-being and make healthier decisions for themselves and their families.

In collaboration with Satvic Movement, Blue Bells Model School successfully conducted a workshop that inspired students to adopt healthier eating habits. Ms. Kiran Rawat, the Primary Wing Incharge, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Satvic Movement for their enlightening session.

World Book Day (Assembly by Class V B)

 On April 23, 2024, the JD Hall echoed with enthusiasm as the young minds of Class V B took center stage to celebrate the essence of literature on "World Book Day." The assembly commenced with the resonance of the school prayer, followed by the pledge and rendition of the school song. The Thought of the Day was shared on the significance of books which served as the catalyst for what was to follow – a celebration of literature in its various forms. A moment of poetic enchantment ensued as a young bard took the stage, weaving verses that painted vivid portraits of the importance of books. With fervor and gusto, the students presented a Nukkad Natak, a theatrical masterpiece that brought to life the transformative power of literature. The Class Incharge, Ms. Pooja Sharma, shared the words of wisdom served as a poignant reminder of the enduring value of literature in the life of students. With hearts and minds enriched, the students dispersed, carrying with them the promise of new adventures and discoveries waiting to unfold. Overall, the assembly proved to be informative and engaging, offering students valuable insights into the world of books.

Guardians of the Globe: Celebrating Earth Day

A little effort will go a long way on everyone’s end.

The students of Grade VI A conducted an assembly focusing on the theme of Earth Day, emphasizing the urgent need to protect our planet. The assembly commenced with a thoughtful reflection on Earth Day and included a captivating role-play, highlighting the significance of environmental conservation. A special Earth Day song added to the ambiance, creating awareness about our responsibility towards Mother Earth. A visually engaging PowerPoint presentation further enlightened the students on how they can become proactive and responsible citizens in safeguarding and nurturing our planet. The central message conveyed by Ms Anshu Malika Kumar, Middle Wing In-charge was that each individual can play a role as a 'Guardian of the Globe.' An informative quiz session on Earth Day not only tested the students' knowledge but also rewarded correct answers, encouraging active participation. Towards the conclusion, all students took a solemn Earth Day pledge, reaffirming their commitment to preserve this precious planet.

Madam Neelam, the Science Coordinator, commended the students for their dedication and emphasized the principle that "a little effort will go a long way," urging everyone to contribute towards the preservation and care of our planet Earth.

EARTH DAY ASSEMBLY

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on 22^nd April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It's a day to appreciate the beauty of nature and to act to protect our planet. To dedicate this day to Mother Earth, students of Grade-V A presented a special assembly on April 16, 2024. The assembly began with the regular features-prayer, pledge and school song followed by the thought for the day and news. The highlight of the assembly was a mesmerizing Mime Act performed by the talented students of Grade-V A. Through silent gestures and expressive movements, they depicted the importance of preserving our planet and the consequences of environmental degradation. A melodious song presentation dedicated to Earth Day further amplified the message of environmental stewardship. The children also pledged to save the Earth and make it a better place to live in. They learnt that simple remedial measures practiced in our day-to-day life can make a huge difference to our environment. Everyday can be celebrated as Earth Day. It should be a continuous process. To conclude the assembly, Primary Wing In charge-Ms. Kiran Rawat addressed the students, emphasizing the imminent need to practice measures to protect Mother Earth. She urged the students to be more responsible and caring towards our environment. In addition to this, the students of Primary Wing participated in various activities showing their artistic talents by creating captivating Coaster using clay, Headgear with message and Mosaic of Earth.

CLASS ASSEMBLY VIII D

Unfolding the Preamble of India

The students of Class VIII D organized a thoughtful assembly focusing on Unfolding India's Preamble to honour B.R. Ambedkar's contributions to India's Constitution as the head of the drafting committee. The assembly commenced with a reflective thought and proceeded with a segment on global news updates. Students shared significant dates, enhancing their vocabulary and pronunciation skills.

A short video detailing the constitution-making process was screened, providing a visual understanding of India's constitutional journey. The highlight of the event was a street play performed by students, emphasizing the importance of the preamble and its constituents. The assembly concluded on a patriotic note with the collective recitation of India's Preamble, fostering a deeper awareness of constitutional values and national identity among the students.

WORKSHOP ON ADOBE EXPRESS

Exploring Adobe Express

 A comprehensive workshop on Adobe Express was organized for the teachers on 13^th April 2024 in ICT Lab of the school. The workshop was conducted by Ms Ritu Arora and Ms Gunjan, resource person from De-Pedagogics. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of creating graphics, videos, and webpages using Adobe Express. Participants were introduced to the interface and tools of Adobe Express, followed by hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to create graphics, edit videos, and design webpages.

 A significant focus of the workshop was on demonstrating how Adobe Express can be effectively integrated into classroom settings to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences. Strategies for incorporating technology into lesson plans, promoting collaboration among students, and assessing learning outcomes were discussed. Throughout the workshop, participants were engaged in hands-on activities and exercises to apply the concepts learned. These included creating graphics for social media, editing short videos, and designing simple webpages. Participants collaborated with each other and received personalized guidance from the instructor.

 Overall, the workshop was a success and participants were left with newfound knowledge and inspiration.

Assembly on Baisakhi & Ambedkar Jayanti (Primary Wing)

Each year BAISAKHI AND AMBEDKAR JAYANTI is celebrated in the month of APRIL. A special assembly was conducted by Primary Wing students and teachers when they gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasions.

The theme of the Assembly was Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti. Assembly began with a lovely message on Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti, followed by School prayer by students. Then the students conducted the pledge to instil a sense of patriotism among all followed by the School Song. The teachers and students participated actively and showed their own views on Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti.  It was delightful to witness the students adorned in traditional Punjabi attire as they gave an energetic dance performance. Towards the end the students were captivated by an electrifying bhangra session performed by the dance team.

The Wing Incharge, Ms. Kiran Rawat, elucidated the importance of the day and appreciated efforts of all the students.

Exploring India's Heritage: The Blue Bells Model School at the Gurgaon History Festival 2024-

Education Through Monuments

The Blue Bells Model School contingent returned from the recently concluded Gurgaon History Festival brimming with excitement and a newfound appreciation for India's rich heritage. The festival, organized by DPS Sector 45 in collaboration with the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust (Jaipur), focused on the theme "Education Through Monuments."

The students of Blue Bells, actively participated in this unique program, showcasing our talents through a captivating stall and a hilarious skit.  Our chosen monument for the festival – the enigmatic Bhangarh Fort of Rajasthan – became the focal point of our learning experience.

Our decision to showcase Bhangarh stemmed from its captivating aura.  The fort's mystique, coupled with its architectural grandeur, provided us with a rich tapestry of historical and cultural elements to explore.  Researching Bhangarh allowed us to delve into not just the fort's past but also the broader context of Rajasthan's history and folklore.

Steering away from traditional historical presentations, we opted for a multidisciplinary approach. Our stall buzzed with activity as students presented Bhangarh's fascinating past from various angles.  History buffs among us delved into the fort's construction, its rulers, and the intriguing legends surrounding its abandonment.  Meanwhile, the artistic contingent created captivating sketches of the fort's architecture, while the budding scientists explored the fort's geographical location and its impact on its historical significance, optical illusions, mathematical representations and chemical analysis of soil samples. The psychology contingent focused on debunking myths and understanding the root causes behind the scary reputation the fort beholds. It was truly a collaborative effort, showcasing the diverse skill sets within our school.

The highlight of our participation was undeniably the skit we presented.  We chose to portray Bhangarh not through a somber lens, but with a dash of humour.  The skit followed a group of enthusiastic students who, tired of rote learning, decided to "experience" history by visiting Bhangarh.  Their journey, filled with comical mishaps and unexpected encounters with the fort's past, not only had the audience in stitches but also subtly conveyed historical facts and local legends. This light hearted approach proved to be a powerful tool for learning.  We observed firsthand how experiential learning, often ignited by humour and creativity, fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for history.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Sandeep Sethi, Director of Education at The City Palace, whose visionary ideas brought the historical event to life. We appreciate Mr. Vikramjit Singh Rooprai and Mr. Abhinav Singhal for their invaluable mentorship, guiding our students through a journey of historical discovery.

A special thanks to Ms. Aditi Mishra, the Director Principal of DPS 45 and her wonderful team for organizing and making the event a resounding success. We are also grateful to Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools, and Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, for providing an enriching platform of learning and fostering a deep appreciation for India's rich heritage among our students.

The Gurgaon History Festival, with its emphasis on experiential learning, has been a transformative experience for the students of Blue Bells Model School. It not only allowed us to showcase our creativity and research skills but also fostered a deeper appreciation for India's historical treasures. We look forward to participating in such enriching events in the future.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (Middle & Senior Wing)

Fostering a collaborative relationship among passionate educators, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents is integral to the educational journey of a student. Building strong communication channels with parents consistently leads to positive outcomes for students, parents, and teachers alike. To engage parents as active participants in their child's development, the school organised an Orientation Programme for the parents of classes X and XII on March 9, 2024 and for the parents of classes VI-VIII and IX on March 30, 2024 followed by the result declaration of the Annual Examination for the session 2023-24. The session provided parents with valuable insights into the teaching-learning process, empowering their involvement in their child's growth and academic success.

The parents were thoroughly informed about the various aspects of their ward's education during the orientation program. They were provided updates on the school curriculum, including students’ achievements in both academic and extracurricular activities, participation in clubs, life skills training, and the code of conduct. Additionally, the assessment criteria for the entire session were discussed. Furthermore, parents were briefed on the adoption of innovative teaching approaches such as STEAM Education, Blended Learning, Flipped Classroom, and Project-based pedagogy, alongside the incorporation of vocational education and skill-based subjects. Faculty members outlined the school's vision and highlighted significant efforts made under the Health and Wellness Program, emphasizing the holistic development of each student. The parents were also briefed about the ICT which has strengthened lesson plans, language lab and Maths Lab modules, smart classes and digital Content enabling the teachers to elucidate and explain concepts.

The initiatives undertaken by the Learning and Development Cell to enhance students' academic growth were also shared with the parents. This comprehensive orientation program facilitated a better understanding of the school's curriculum strategy, ensuring a fruitful learning journey for their children. The session concluded with an open house, where the school team attentively addressed parents' queries. The orientation program underscored the collaborative effort between parents and teachers in shaping a child's life, enabling them to navigate challenges successfully with confidence.
