ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PRIMARY WING

Embarking on the journey of its next academic session, Blue Bells Model School, Sector-4, received the parents of the Blue Bells family with joy and humility at the Parents’ Orientation Programme held on March 16, 2024 for Grades IV-V, and March 30, 2024 for Grade III. On this day, parents were acquainted with the school’s system, facilities, curriculum, rules and regulations of the school.

It was an ice breaking session to accord kinship between the two most indispensable factors of a child’s journey of education; parents and school. With the commencement of the programme by invoking the blessings of the Almighty, Madam Alka Singh, the school principal extended a warm welcome to the parents. The teaching faculty of Primary Wing provided an insight on the functioning of the school and the student-centric efforts undertaken to achieve the motto of the school “Be Honest, Be Brave”.

The parents were briefed about an overview of the various subjects and the activities which would be undertaken during the session 2024-25. The co-scholastic activities were also discussed that gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities that not only give our students a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their all-round development. They were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills training, and code of conduct for the students. The parents were also briefed about the earnest efforts of the school for the socio-emotional empowerment along with cognitive and ethical development of the students through well-regulated Health & Wellness Programme a part of the school curriculum. The session closed by addressing the queries of the parents well attended by the school team.

GRADE III WELCOME ASSEMBLY

“A new morning is a new beginning and a new hope. We all need to give full effort and perseverance to achieve our goals, and there isn’t any shortcut to achieving success.”

In a student’s life, a new beginning is all about moving to a new class, making new friends, meeting new teachers, getting new books and exploring new paths of learning. The first day of Grade III students began on a happy and exciting note. To seek divine blessings and to give an auspicious start to our new session, the newcomers of Grade III were welcomed with a 'tilak' on their foreheads.

A special assembly was conducted to welcome Grade III students by the newly appointed School Council 2024-25. Assembly started with the prayer that filled the hearts with gratitude and humility. The little Blue Bellians were welcomed by their teachers through an enthralling Dance and Zumba performance. The students enjoyed different dance moves performed by their teachers that kept them captivated throughout the assembly. The story telling session was the highlight of the assembly. The students also enjoyed the class activity where they created beautiful bunny and peacocks and received a "great first day" badge. Havan was also performed to surge in the positive thoughts, words, and actions which pave the way to success. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director Blue Bells Group of School showered her blessings on the students for their bright future. School Principal, Ms. Alka Singh, motivated them to spare no stone unturned for their future endeavours. Primary Wing In-charge, Ms. Kiran Rawat, applauded the efforts of the students and teachers in putting up a spectacular assembly .

‘Unwrapping Learning Packages Chapter 2023 - 24’

Blue Bells Model School is committed to initiate collaborative learning and a paradigm shift from teaching to holistic development of the learners. Unwrapping learning packages is an annual academic feature at Blue Bells Model School. With a hundred percent participation from the primary wing and the objective of ‘No Student Left Behind’, the school through the carnival achieves its objective of a Happy Childhood. With this noble objective, Blue Bells Model School hosted the ‘Academic Carnival: Unwrapping Learning Packages Edition IX, Chapter 2023-24’-an event organized under the aegis of Learning and Development centre- The learning Space on 16^th and 17^th February 2024. The event showcased the learning progression of the students in the Primary wing in sync with the transdisciplinary pedagogy of the school incorporating Experiential STREAM and Design Thinking approach. The event ensured positive and active engagement of the parents in this learning process. The theme of the mega event was ‘Natural Phenomenon and Natural Resources’.

The event was conceptualized by Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation, BBGS and was inaugurated by Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The enthusiastic talented Blue Bellians showcased an enthralling musical presentation, dance performances and class-wise subject-based presentations. The students played a pivotal role by conducting theme-based games, involved parents, and made numerous interactive sessions.

Blue Bells Model School is known for creating a balance between curricular and co-curricular activities along with enhancing vocational and entrepreneurial skills. In accordance, craftwork using waste articles, sculpture items and culinary items were designed and created by the students. To promote financial literacy, these hand-crafted items were sold for charity. Upholding the sub-theme of the event ‘Honouring Nature’s Riches’ every activity was designed to support SDGs.

The Health & Wellness team, under the motivational leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools, curated a serene space called ‘Elixir: Find Your Essence’, adding a touch of magic. This endeavour provided parents with an insightful overview of the Health & Wellness Programme, School Cinema, and Raahein -Parents’ Workshop, showcasing its wide array of activities and events tailored for students, parents, and teachers.  

On the occasion, Ms Alka Singh, Principal expressed that the heartening appreciation received for the Learning Progression and Thematic Transdisciplinary Approach enveloping the entire celebration underscored the success of the holistic educational model. She added that it was more than an event; it was a testament to the power of collective learning, innovation, and community engagement. In closing, this collaborative venture not only forged meaningful partnerships but also ignited a spark of curiosity and enthusiasm within the learning community. As we reflect on the shared experiences and applaud the collective efforts, it is with great anticipation that we look forward to continued growth, exploration, and collaborative learning in the educational journey ahead.

MI CAMP

Event -Multiple intelligence and Adventurous Camp

A befitting culmination to the action-packed academic session 2023-2024 was the Multiple Intelligence and Adventurous Camp held on 7th March 2024, in the sprawling lawns of The Blue Bells School, Sector-50. The Camp was organised for the students of Classes III-V of Blue Bells Model School. The students were truly fortunate to have with them Madam Soumya Gulati (Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation) who goes above and beyond to provide a thriving learning environment to them. Ma’am formally inaugurated the camp and gave her blessings to all the students.

The camp aimed to set up eight different intelligences: visual-spatial, naturalistic, bodily-kinaesthetic, logical-mathematical, linguistic intelligence, musical intelligence, intrapersonal and interpersonal. The students not only explored various facets of intelligence but also gained confidence in social interaction, critical thinking and self-expression. Thrilling and exhilarating entertainment, the sensory experience of being in the lap of nature; learning to relate with the team activities; enhancing of life skills and being able to understand the interdependence of man with nature, were also the objectives of the camp.

The campus was buzzing whole day as campers got busy in a rich array of activities such as 3 Doodler, Xtreme Bot, Tie Dye, Drip Irrigation, Dance 60, Rock Climbing, Zipline, and USHA Fashion, the camp aimed to provide a well-rounded learning experience. It was thrilling to see the children daring to soak in the adventure spirit and soar their spirits higher. The camp provided an opportunity to the students for honing their 21st century skills.

Puberty Session

LET’S TALK PUBERTY- A SESSION FOR CLASS V GIRLS

"Embracing change leads to personal and professional development."

Puberty marks a significant transitional phase for both boys and girls, encompassing physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. It's imperative to address the confusion and concerns that arise during this period. In alignment with this, an interactive session was conducted specifically for girl students of Class V, under the patronage of by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. The session, led by Ms. Sapna Sinha, Content Developer, & Life Skills Facilitator, along with Ms. Prerna Karkhanis, Life Skills Facilitator & Counsellor, was organized  on February 26, 2024.

Through the screening of the School Cinema movie 'Let's Talk Puberty' and engaging discussions, the girls gained insight into the physical, emotional, hormonal, and social changes characteristic of puberty. They were briefed about Puberty that involves physical and emotional changes that can be both challenging and exciting. Having conversation with elders, family members and teachers helps to ease out the concerns and queries which they have during the onset of puberty. The session provided each one an open and safe space to discuss their experiences.

 Moreover, the girls were made aware of significance of maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting sufficient rest, engaging in outdoor activities, and upholding cleanliness and hygiene for overall well-being was also emphasized. Practical advice was provided on self-care during this phase to help the students navigate the changes effectively. They were encouraged to express their concerns, doubts, and emotions openly, fostering a sense of empowerment.

To conclude the session, Ms. Sapna and Ms. Prerna underscored the importance of healthy eating habits and regular exercise. They urged the students to seek further support and guidance from their mothers, nurses, doctors, teachers, counselors, and Wing In-charge regarding this crucial phase of their development.

VIRTUAL CONNECT – Understanding SDG 12

“Through virtual connections, we transcend boundaries to unite in purpose, harnessing technology's potential to drive sustainable change”.

Bluebells Model School connected for an interaction with DPS, Lava Nagpur, Choithram International School, Indore and B.D Memorial Jr School, Kolkata on 23rd February, 2023. Thirty students from Grade VII and VIII participated from our school. The exchange of ideas was regarding SDG 12 which is about ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns, which is key to sustain the livelihoods of current and future generations. After a brief introduction of the students from both the schools, a walkthrough video was exchanged by all the participating schools.

The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable consumption and production practices and to inspire action towards achieving this goal. All the students presented the initiatives taken by them in their school and local areas. The session was concluded with a call to action, urging participants to integrate sustainable principles into their daily lives and advocating change within their communities and organizations. As we continue our journey towards a more sustainable future, it is essential to build on the momentum generated by this session and work collaboratively to implement concrete solutions at the local, national, and global levels.

Basant Panchami Celebration: A Melody of Wisdom, Culture, and Unity

Today the school premises was immersed in a vibrant celebration of Saraswati Puja on the occasion of Basant Panchami. The heart of the celebration was the Saraswati Vandana, a soulful prayer dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. The entire school echoed with the melodious chants, creating an aura of reverence and devotion. The sacred puja ceremony was conducted by Mr. Sashi Tiwari, who led the students and staff in seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Ms. Tanuja Sharma took the stage to elucidate the significance of Basant Panchami. She eloquently explained the cultural and traditional importance of this auspicious day, emphasizing how it marks the arrival of spring and the celebration of new beginnings. Her insightful presentation deepened the understanding of the cultural roots embedded in Saraswati Puja. The celebration reached its crescendo with a musical finale. Ms. Anshu Jha and the school choir graced the occasion with two soul-stirring bhajans. The melodic tunes and uplifting lyrics filled the air, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The entire school joined in, fostering a sense of unity and joy. The Basant Panchami celebration was a harmonious blend of spirituality, knowledge, and cultural significance. The event not only allowed us to pay homage to Goddess Saraswati but also provided a platform for fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the arts and education. As the day concluded with the resonating bhajans, it left everyone with a feeling of gratitude and inspiration, promising a year filled with enlightenment and success.

DISTRESS TO DE-STRESS: HANDLING EXAMINATION STRESS

Throughout exams, maintaining a tranquil mental state is crucial for students, allowing them to address any distressing emotions they may experience. To support students in managing their emotions and addressing concerns, the Health & Wellness Resource Centre team, led by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, developed an interactive module specifically designed to gear with the Examination Stress. The Life Skills facilitators conducted the module for the students of Classes VI to VIII, IX and XI in the month of January 2024.

The session included indicators and symptoms of stress. Students were guided on how each one can recognize and address automatic negative thoughts. Importance of an effective time management plan through prioritization and crafting a SMART timetable was shared. Strategies for boosting productivity, recognizing and integrating diverse learning approaches were liked by students.

To improve the concentration span, a few concentration exercises were conducted which were appreciated by the students. These exercises were followed by a short progressive muscular relaxation and guided imagery.  The importance of a healthy lifestyle was talked about which emphasized on balanced diet, regular exercise, and good sleeping habits.

Throughout the session the students felt connected, could express their concerns effectively and got adequate solutions in order to work positively for the forthcoming exam.

The session concluded on a positive note where it was shared with the students that they can connect individually with the Resource Center Team as well as the Life Skills facilitators for any further support.

HAWAN CEREMONY

Dearest God, guide me towards hope, faith, and trust. Lead me on the path of eternal truth, filling my heart, mind, life, and world with everlasting peace and tranquility.

A Hawan ceremony was organized for the students of grades X and XII, who are preparing for the upcoming CBSE board examinations in 2024. The ceremony was conducted with a divine fervour and spiritual essence, seeking blessings from the Almighty for the students' outstanding performance.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of the Blue Bells Group of Schools, Ms. Alka Singh, Principal along with dedicated teachers joined the students in the hawan. Director Ma’am extended her best wishes to all the students, not only for their upcoming exams but also for a prosperous and fulfilling life ahead.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prasad, symbolizing the divine blessings received during this spiritually enriching event.

BBMS’ Innovation Triumph: IntelliPack Recognized Nationally

The school is thrilled to share the recent success of Rupsha Ghosh, a bright student from class VIII B. Her groundbreaking project, "IntelliPack-Your Smart Sidekick for School," garnered attention at the esteemed Pariksha Pe Charcha event, where it was showcased to the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.

Before addressing Pariksha Pe Charcha, Prime Minister Modi explored an exhibition at Bharat Mandapam, where Rupsha's project was displayed. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) selected her project for the exhibition. CBSE officials, including Joseph Emmanuel (Director Academics), Dr. Biswajit Saha (Director, Training & Skill Education), Sh. Al Hilal Ahmed (Joint Secretary - Academics), Sh. R.P. Singh (Joint Secretary - Skill Education), and Sh. Satish Kumar (Deputy Secretary - Skill Education), lauded the students' innovative efforts and offered valuable guidance for their presentation.
